A/B testing

A/B Testing

A/B testing is a method where two versions of a webpage, app feature, or marketing campaign are shown to different users to see which one performs better. One group sees Version A, while another sees Version B, and their actions (clicks, sign-ups, or purchases) are compared. This helps businesses make data-driven decisions based on what users actually respond to.

Why it’s important for your business

A/B testing removes guesswork and helps businesses understand what works best for their customers. Instead of making changes based on opinions, companies can test real user behavior to improve conversion rates, engagement, and overall experience. Even small tweaks, like a different button color or headline, can have a big impact.

Examples

1. E-commerce: An online store tests two different product page layouts to see which one leads to more purchases.
2. Finance: A banking app experiments with two versions of a loan application form - one with fewer fields and one with more details - to see which gets completed more often.
3. Travel-Tech: A flight booking site tries two different call-to-action buttons (“Book Now” vs. “Find Your Flight”) to see which encourages more bookings.

A/B testing helps businesses continuously improve by learning what customers prefer and making smarter choices based on real data.
